About RKing Industries

An engineering workshop that happens to also write its own software - CAD design, 3D printing, CNC machining and code, all under one roof.

Innovation meets madness - rkingindustries.com

01The Workshop

RKing Industries started as one person's habit of saying yes to projects that probably should have been quoted "no" - a broken part that needed reverse-engineering, a bracket that didn't exist yet, a tool that didn't exist because nobody had bothered to build it. CAD, 3D printing and CNC machining cover the physical side; the same instinct for "I can just build this" carries over into the software - which is why this website, the darts tracker and the circuit diagram tool are all written in-house rather than bought off a shelf.

There's no call centre and no account manager. If you get in touch, you're talking to the person who'll actually design, print, machine or code the thing.

02Who's Behind RKing Industries

Ralph King, founder of RKing Industries

Ralph King Founder

Hi, I'm Ralph. The name is as simple as it gets: the R is for Ralph, and King is my surname.

I started RKing Industries because I've always had a fascination with everything around me: how things are made, how they work, and how they could be made better. That curiosity is what turns into parts, prototypes and software here.

Most of the making happens on our 3D printers, which are mostly Bambu Lab, and on our CNC machines for parts that need cutting rather than printing. The CAD and the code are done in-house too. When you get in touch, it's me you're talking to.

03Made & Hosted in the UK

Union Jack

Everything here runs on our own machines, in the UK. No big cloud provider, no rented data centre on the other side of the world: the servers behind this site are hardware we own, set up and look after ourselves.

That means the things you trust us with stay on those machines in the UK:

  • This website and your account
  • Your NoteBoard sheets and files
  • Minecraft servers, worlds and backups
  • Quote requests and order records
  • The design, printing, machining and coding work itself
The few things that go elsewhere, so there are no surprises (the full detail is in the privacy policy): card payments are taken by Stripe; account emails are sent through Zoho's EU mail service; the circuit diagram tool asks Google's Gemini AI; the plugin and mod browser searches Modrinth; and Minecraft players connect through a relay server in Germany, which passes game traffic straight through to our UK machines without storing anything.

04What We Do

Four things, done properly rather than dabbled in:

Design

CAD & 3D Modelling

Parametric models from a sketch, a photo or a rough idea, with drawings and tolerances that actually mean something.

Additive

3D Printing

FDM and resin for prototypes, jigs, housings and short production runs, in a material chosen for the job.

Subtractive

CNC Machining

Milling and routing where printing won't cut it - real stiffness, real finish, real tolerances, one-offs or small batches.

Software

Programming

Web apps, mobile apps, scripts and automation tools written from scratch, plus this website and the free tools on it.

See the home page for the full breakdown, or head straight to contact to start a project.
