The questions that come up most, about the workshop side and the software side.
Custom CAD design, 3D printing, CNC machining, and software development - web apps, mobile apps, and bespoke tools or automation. See the home page for the full breakdown.
Email [email protected] or call +44 7484 631926 with a description of what you need. There's no online quote form or ticket queue - just a straight answer back.
No. A sketch, a photo of a broken part, a rough set of measurements, or just a paragraph describing the idea is enough to start. Modelling it properly in CAD is part of the job, not a prerequisite for asking.
For 3D printing: PLA, PETG, ABS and resin, chosen for the part rather than whatever's on the spool. For CNC: aluminium, plastics, timber and composites. If a job needs something else, ask - there's usually a way to make it work.
Both. One-off prototypes and repairs are just as welcome as small production runs - a lot of the work is exactly that kind of odd, one-off job nobody else wants to quote for.
Four steps: tell us the idea, we scope it and give you a straight answer on cost and approach, we build it (printed, milled, coded, or a mix), then it gets tested and refined before anything is finalised or produced in quantity.
It depends entirely on the job - a simple print can be quick, while CAD design, CNC work or software builds take longer. A realistic time estimate is given during scoping, before you commit to anything.
Yes. CAD models and drawings produced for a commissioned project are yours to keep.
Send it anyway. Part of the scoping stage is an honest opinion on whether it's worth making as described, and what a more sensible version might look like if not.
Yes - both are free, with no ads and no tracking. The Darts Tracker handles 501, 301 and custom games with averages and checkouts. The Circuit Diagram Maker turns a plain-English description into a diagram, powered by Google's Gemini API.
No. An account is optional. It's needed for online darts (friends, groups, stats and history) and for Minecraft hosting, and it lets you keep more than one NoteBoard sheet. Nothing on the CAD, printing, CNC or contact side needs one, and the offline darts tracker and circuit tool work without it.
Username, email, an Argon2 password hash, a friend code, and httpOnly cookies - no advertising or analytics cookies. If you use the extras, we also store your darts games and throws, friends and groups, any Minecraft server details and files, and your NoteBoard sheets. Deleting your account removes your account data, with a couple of exceptions explained in the privacy policy.
Yes. When you start an online game you can add a guest by name. Each guest gets a claim code, and if they sign up later they can enter it to move their games and stats onto their own account. Whoever holds the code can claim it, so only give it to that person.
Add friends using their friend code (found on your account) - their email and username stay private until they accept. Groups are created with a join code and an optional password; group members can see games where two or more of them played each other. A group is deleted when its last member leaves.
Minecraft hosting is invite-only for now. You need an account and a redemption code, then you can create one server (Paper, Spigot, Vanilla, Forge, NeoForge or Fabric) with a free .play.rkingindustries.com subdomain or your own domain. Paper and Spigot servers get Bedrock support through Geyser and Floodgate. You manage it from the panel: start, stop, console, logs and file browser. Contact us if you'd like a code. See the terms for the rules.
Delete the server from the panel first. That removes its files, world and routing permanently. Account deletion alone removes your records but not a running server's files, so please remove the server before you delete your account.
NoteBoard is a free board for notes and images. With an account your sheets are saved (up to 200). Without one you get a single demo sheet that is deleted a day after you last edit it, so sign up if you want to keep your work.
